SIZE : The two-panel screen measures 72 inches across and stands 70 inches high
DESCRIPTION : This is a radiant, Maruyama style work from the early 20th Century. The Maruyama School added considerably to the development of Japanese Art from its inception in the late 18th Century. Its studies and developments were based on direct natural observation and meticulous attention to detail. This work is showing strong Maruyama influences, as well as touches of the romanticism and mysticism which flourished in Japanese Art from 1915 to 1930.
TECHNIQUE : pigment and gofun on silk
CONDITION : The screen is entirely original and in good condition. There are a couple of random, non-distracting marks. The silk below the top brocade strip is discolored in patches – please see the online images.
