DESCRIPTION : A set of six high quality Shunga paintings originally from a set of twelve. Designed to be presented as a handscroll, the paintings have never previously been mounted. Very finely painted.
TECHNIQUE : Painted with ink, gofun and pigment on silk.
CONDITION : The ink and pigments are strong and vibrant, the silk supple and clean. Foxing is present in the images, particularly on the white gofun. In reality it is perhaps half as conspicuous as it appears in the photographs.
