DESCRIPTION : An oversized Taisho period work depicting a pair of exotic foreign birds sheltering from the heat of summer amongst a group of foxgloves. Rich green foliage gives way to long spikes of drooping bell shaped flowers in hues of amaranth purple fringed with pink.

CONDITION : The work is in good condition. Light marking is visible, particularly in the upper right fields. The pale brocade mounting is from a later date and does buckle outward - even so the painting displays well.
